Hickory District Meeting
June 26, 2007

The Hickory District of NC NAPUS was held at the Box Car Grill in Statesville on Tuesday, June 26th at 6:30 PM. Mark Jolly was re-elected to a third term as District Director.

Bob Vess agreed to interrupt his busy retiree schedule to be with us.

Charlotte District

Charlotte District

We had a small crowd but it was a good meeting. There were two ladies there from South Carolina. Drew made it but he missed the meal. Rodney DeFlumeri addressed the postmasters and reported on our position for this year. He was fresh from a meeting with Jerry Lane and said that all the top people are concerned about low revenues and falling mail volumes. Our level now is usually where it is in June and July. He fielded some questions and we all spoke plainly. I appreciate his taking time to do this.

Antonia Cuevas the gave us his presentation on PFP and what we can do to improve. I wish everyone could have been there to hear this. He did the best job I have ever heard and even though I thought I knew it well, I really learned a lot.

We held our Charlotte District elections and I was elected for another term and JD Thompson will be our vice Director.

Drew Martin then gave us an update on our convention. This sounds like one of our best ones ever. We have a lot of interesting speakers and training choices for everyone. I am hoping that Antonio can teach a class on PFP.
