Dear President Drew:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing
me to speak to your delegation at the NAPUS national convention
in Anchorage last month and it was my pleasure to meet so many
dedicated individual Postmasters that care about both the Postal
Service and our great organization. As you are aware we are facing
some very difficult challenges in the Postal Service, and NAPUS
needs to be strong in order to fight for the rights of Postmasters
all across this great country. I truly believe that I am the
right person to represent Postmasters in the capacity of your
National Secretary Treasurer for the years 2011-2012. Currently
Wayne Orshak is representative of a person who not only keeps
an eye on the expenses of our organization but is in the trenches
fighting to bring the word honorable back to the title of Postmaster.
I believe that I am the same type of person and pledge that I
will continue the strong leadership that we have come accustomed
to.
Please keep in mind that in 2011 we will be embarking on the
most crucial pay consultations in the history of NAPUS and our
organization will need two strong leaders at the top of our organization
to protect our pay and benefits package. I urge all NAPUS members
to remember that this is not a popularity contest, it is who
is the most qualified individual to take on the assignments of
both financial responsibility as the Secretary Treasurer and
who will work best with the incoming President Bob Rapoza of
Hawaii to protect the rights of Postmasters? Again, I believe
the answer is clear.
I look forward to seeing you in Washington at the Leadership
Conference in March and speaking to the Postmasters again at
that time. Remember, no matter what the Postal Service throws
our way we are Postmasters proud and strong and are always willing
to take on the hard issues as they arise. Until next time, keep
your head high and keep up the great work that you do for our
organization day in and day out. I would ask you to consider
endorsing me at your next convention and be assured that you
will be voting for the best candidate.
Sincerely,
Scott A Boardman

I hope everyone that attended the national convention in Anchorage
had a wonderful
time and enjoyed the magnificent scenery. I you were unable to
attend, you sure did
miss a special event with your fellow NAPUS members.
I would like to thank everyone that offered me support and words
of encouragement
this year. The 2009 NAPUS convention season is now over. I traveled
to many states
this year, and look forward to attending as many state conventions
next year as time
permits.
So far this year I have received full state endorsements from
Oklahoma, Illinois, Utah,
Montana, Kentucky, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Ohio and
Puerto Rico & Virgin
Islands. The early support of my fellow NAPUS members from these
states encourages
me. And, I thank those who offered their support next year from
the bottom of my
heart.
I believe I have a lot more to offer the NAPUS membership in
the capacity as National
Secretary/Treasurer and if elected will again provide the excellent
leadership our
membership deserves. I listened to the membership from throughout
the country, and
took their concerns and requests to the Executive Board. Many
of the suggestions
were adopted after I performed research and presented reasonable
financial
explanations for their requests to be honored.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season. See you at the
Leadership
Conference and/or on the campaign trail next year!
